Reseeding is the fastest fix but you will first need to identify the grasses in your sod so the grass seed you purchase will match the sod. If you don't know what kinds of grasses are in your sod, dig out a representative sample and take it to your local garden center or your cooperative extension office for help in identification. Rake out the damaged areas of your turf then overseed, covering the seeds with a light application of peat moss or compost. The new grass will sprout in 7-10 days and fill in over the next several weeks. Best wishes with your lawn!
