Bermuda grass came in on some St. Augustine sod. It took over the lawn. I have tilled and sprayed but it keeps coming back. I want to make SURE it is dead before laying centipede sod. Former lawn is just dirt with bermuda sprouting. How can I kill it? |
You can use a vegetation killer on existing bermuda (glyphosate sold as Round Up). If the bermuda is gone but you think seeds might still be in the soil, apply a corn gluten based pre emergent before laying your sod. Pre emergence products keep seeds from germinating but won't harm plants that are already growing such as your new sod. Weed Stopper Plus, WOW!, and Weed Ban are all corn gluten based pre emergents but there are other brands on the market. Best wishes with your new lawn! |
