The Q&A Archives: Define amended soil

Question: What is amended soil?

Answer: Amended soil is simply native soil into which you have incorporated organic matter such as compost, aged manure, etc. Amending the soil prior to planting will help loosen the soil so it drains well and as the amendments decompose they will provide nutrients to the roots of your plants.
