Holes in the leaves can be caused by insect feeding or by a disease called shot hole. Without knowing which it is, I can't offer a solution. If you see no insects currently on the leaves, the pests have feasted and left the area. If you do find insects, capture a few in a plastic baggie and have them identified by nursery personnel or at your local cooperative extension office. Once you know what you are dealing with you can make an educated decision as to how to treat the problem. Good luck with your tree.
