Working in and around oleanders can cause skin irritation for sensitive individuals so long sleeves and gloves are recommended when pruning oleanders. If your skin begins to itch after handling oleander leaves and branches, wash your hands and arms with a mild soap. That's usually enough to get the residue off your skin and prevent longterm irritation and rashes.
