The Q&A Archives: why are they dying?

Question: I bought a bunch of dwarf snapdragons and most of them are dying. A couple of them even have blooms on them and they are still dying. . I just don't know what's wrong. I treat all of them the same and about half are dying... HELP

Answer: Snapdragons are cool season annuals so if it's gotten hot, that might explain it. Snaps can go through some transplant shock and will struggle if the soil is not loamy and fast draining so that might also explain the problem. I'd just continue to water them on a regular basis. If they don't come back you can remove them from the garden - but there's still a chance they might recover. Hope so!
