Annuals that grow well in full sun in zone 5 or 6. Also shrubs that grow in full sun in Zone 5 or 6

Some of the best shrubs for your area include Callicarpa americana (American Beautyberry), Ligustrum amurense (Amur Privet), Forsythia, Ilex x meserveae (Blue Holly), Spiraea prunifolia (Bridalwreath), Viburnum x burkwoodii (Burkwood Viburnum) and Butterfly Bush. Annuals for sun include petunias, Amaranthus, Bachelor's Button, Pot Marigold, Celosia, Cleome, Cosmos, border Dahlia, geranium, globe amaranth, portulaca, sweet pea, verbena, and zinnia.
