The Q&A Archives: Sand in soil for palm tree

Question: Should we add sand in the soil when planting a Toddy Date Palm tree?

Answer: Native soil is best for your palm. Don't add anything to it, especially sand. Just dig the soil from the planting hole, plant your palm, and backfill with the soil you removed from the hole. Your palm will be just fine.
