Could you please tell me when you should plant creeping thyme seeds in zone 7? Also, do you sell creeping thyme seeds? |
Yes, Burpee carries both creeping and common thyme. It is best to start seeds indoors in February or March. Like may perennial herbs, thyme takes a while to grow into a transplant of sufficient size to set out in the garden. If you still want to get in a planting this year, go ahead and order seeds and start them in a good seed starter mix in a transplant tray. Select a bright, outdoor location out of direct sun, and water just enough to keep evenly moist. When seedlings get their first true leaves, move to a sunny location and keep well watered but not soggy. Transplant to the garden when plants are 2" or more in size. |
