I just got a load of manure from a farm. What is the best way to use it in my container vegetable garden?

If it's fresh manure you will want to spread it out in your yard so it can age and mellow before using it. Fresh manure has lots of urea which will burn plants and plant roots. You will need to let rain water leach the salts out over a period of a few months. If it is aged manure, you can use it to make your own soil mixture or simply place a layer over the top of your soil to act as a mulch.
