we planted seeds this year for the first time and were very excited to see them come up and thrive then out of the blue the stems turned white and now they are starting to die. all thw cucumbers and tomatoes look awful the only healthy plants left are the green beans. Can we save them? |
You probably cannot save them. It sounds like the fungal disease called damping off, which is quite common on seedlings when the soil remains too wet and there is very little air circulation around the plants. Start all over with fresh seeds and space them so they have good air circulation all around. Water only after the top of the soil begins to dry out. Hope you have better success with your second batch of seeds. |
