| I have a thornless agave here in south florida, zone 9-10. After blooming the leaves shriveled and (it seemed like quickly) turned yellow and declined. The plant was about 4' X4' and was in the ground 6-8 years before blooming a 10-12' spike. Thanks. I asked this question yesterday, however I mistakingly used the worng e-mail! |
| What you've witnessed is the natural death of your agave. These plants grow and then flower and after flowering the parent plant dies but they usually produce offsets before they die completely. You can plant some of these pups and have brand new plants. |
