I am trying to start a cut flower garden. Someone gave me some baby's breath, but it is the variety Garden Bride. I understand this particular one to be shorter and more shrub like than that for cut flower arrangements. Is this true? Is there any way to coax it into growing taller? |
Gypsophila are many-branched, slender-stemed plants, 6 inches to 4 feet tall. 'Garden Bride' is one of the dwarf varieties and will remain small, regardless of how you try to encourage it. The favorite variety of Baby's Breath to grow for cutting is 'Perfecta'. You'll be happier having 'Perfecta' in your garden - it's not too late to plant seeds! |
