The Q&A Archives: borers

Question: I seem to be getting lots of borers attacking my trees. They have killed a kwanson Cherry, wisteria, and have gotten in last year and working on my most beautiful European Beech.I tried the bayer soil soaks but lack information on additional techniques to treat and or prevent additional damage. Please help. I am so bored:-(

Answer: I don't know whether borers are infesting your entire neighborhood or if your landscape is just an isolated incident, but borers are really difficult to control, especially when damage is already present. I can only suggest you contact your local county cooperative extension office for suggestions. I don't know which county office is closest to you so here's a website:

Scroll down until you find your county and then contact the agents there for some control measures. Best wishes with your trees!
