I have a jasmine plant (jasminum polyanthum) and would like to know to what diseases it might be susceptible to, and how to avoid them. |
Jasminum polyanthum is and evergreen vine that's fast climbing and strong growing to about 20' feet. It has finely divided leaflets and dens clusters of fragrant flowers. It needs full sun to partial shade and regular watering in the summertime. If not properly cared for, a jasmine is subject to a few diseases; blossom blight, and root rot. Root rot generally occurs if planted in a poorly draining soil, and blossom blight is a fungal disease. Both problems can be avoided by carefully pruning your plant to provide adequate air circulation and vigorous growth, and by planting in well-draining soil. |
