The Q&A Archives: When to plant?

Question: I live in South Jersey. When is the earliest I can plant my seedlings outside?

Answer: The average last frost date in your area is May 4. You can plant outdoors now, but you'll need to be ready to cover over your plants if frost is predicted. I usually wait about a week after the last average frost to plant outdoors. Just to be on the safe side! Best wishes with your garden!
