The Q&A Archives: Cuthbert Raspberry

Question: What variety of raspberry is comparable to the old variety that was called Cuthbert?

Answer: All raspberries are self-fruitful and don't need another cultivar to insure pollination, but if you have room, try growing several varieties, just for comparison. Many of the new cultivars rival the old ones in terms of productivity, disease resistance, and flavor. Try 'Autumn Bliss' or 'Heritage' in your garden. Both are available from Raintree Nursery, 27635 S. Oglesby Rd., Canby, OR 97013. Phone (503) 266-5432.
