The Q&A Archives: planting tulips

Question: I received a pot of tulips for easter when do I replant them do I just leave pot ouside karen

Answer: When the flowers are spent cut off the flower stems but leave the foliage alone. When it dies down and turns crispy brown you can dig the bulbs, pull off the dead foliage and store the bulbs in a cool, dark place until fall. At that time you can plant them in the ground. Enjoy your tulips!
