| My swiss chard plants from last summer are still alive and producing. I read that it can be perennial in regions with no hard freeze, but I am in Colorado... Will the chard taste ok or should I rip these out and plant new plants this spring? |
| You can continue to harvest your overwintered Swiss chard but as soon as the weather warms it will probably bolt so I'd consider replacing the plants with younger plants. As Swiss chard roots age and the plant matures it will be all set to bolt and produce seeds when the weather is just right. So, it's your decision but for tasty and tender Swiss chard, I'd replace the old plants. |
