| We purchased a home in North Carolina where the builder planted a Crape Myrtle in an area that never receives sun--according to your plant care guide, these require full sun. Will the plant be able to survive there and, if so, what potential problems will I have as a result of no sun? Thanks! |
| Crape myrtles grow and flower best when they receive a minimum of 8 hours of direct sunshine a day. If yours do not, they will not bloom well and they will be prone to a fungal disease called powdery mildew. If you can, move them now while they are small. Otherwise you will have to deal with puny shrubs (instead of trees) that will be disease prone. |
