Pennisetum Red Head can be invasive in warm winter climates but shouldn't become invasive in eastern Washington; Miscanthus Gracilas can become invasive if not monitored and properly cared for. You can simply deadhead them (remove the seed pods) and neither plant will spread out of bounds. Both will grow in your climate.
