Front lawn is on small slope toward the sidewalk. I have patches on entire lawn where grass is missing & now lawn looks like a

I think you can fix the brown patches yourself. Just rake out the dead grass, put a little compost on the spot and dig it in a little, rake the area level and overseed with grass seed. The seeds should germinate in a week or 10 days. Mixing some compost into the soil prior to overseeding will give the roots a nice place to grow and the grass should green up quickly.
