The Q&A Archives: Cottoneasters

Question: How do I prune coneasters that have been left with brown stems from winter?

Answer: Prune back all of the dead stems on your cottoneaster and then prune it all back by about one third. New growth will emerge from the pruning cuts and your plants will develop flowers this summer and berries this fall. Enjoy!
