Your average last frost date is about May 5 so just keep your new plant outdoors until (and if) frost is predicted. If frost threatens, put the plant in an unheated garage or shed overnight and take it outdoors the following morning. Then plant outdoors in your garden after the first week of May. Good luck with your new plant!
