Weeping cherry trees can develop a fungal disease called brown rot. It can cause cankers on the limbs and on the trunk. These cankers are not always fatal to the tree but you might want to try and treat the tree with a fungicide. Look for Daconil , Captan, or Spectracide Immunox and apply according to label directions. Repeat applications are usually required. Best wishes with your tree!
