I have eight 5 foot Leyland Cypress trees. How far apart should I plant them and how far from property line.

How long will it take for them to double in size?

Thanks, John.

Leyland cypresses usually grow 3-4 feet a year and can be planted on 6' centers if you want a thick privacy screen, or 12 feet apart if you want each tree to develop it's full width. I'd keep them 6-12 feet from the property line.
