When transplanting narcissis and hyacinths, should I cut off dying foliage? |
The bulbs build up next years bloom from those leaves. To ensure that your bulbs bloom well the following year, leave foliage in place until it dies down completely. Often gardeners will place a companion plant with bulbs. The new leaves on the other plant cover and hide the unsightly, dying leaves of the fading bulbs. You can move the bulbs earlier, but you risk losing next year's bloom if you do. Hope this helps! |
