| Here are a few suggestions for annuals I think would bloom well for you in that blazing hot afternoon sun: cosmos, tithonia, blue salvia "Victoria", the smaller sunflowers ranging in color from cream to mahogany, balsam, dahlia, gerbera daisies, gomphrena (globe amaranth), cleome (spider flower), verbena, and finally, although it is a bulb, gladiola. If possible, try to ensure they receive at least an inch of water a week since the location is also dry. It's also helpful to work some compost into the soil, and keep plants mulched to increase moisture retention. Enjoy! |
