| I did not prune my grape fines in the fall I live on Colorado and need to know if I should or should not prune them now in April? Will I get more grapes and foliage if I do? Or If I do not prune them will there be lot of old dead branches? I am looking for a lot of foliage and a medium amount of Grapes, what is the best thing to do? |
| Prune your grapes back now. The more you prune, the more new vines you will get which translates to lots of foliage and grapes, as well. The older the vines get, the more grapes they will produce so cut them back now and the old wood that remains will develop new flowering/fruiting shoots. I cut my vines back hard - leaving only about 3' of old wood. I have more grapes than I know what to do with! |
