There are two gardening season in Kingman: February to May and September to December. It's a little late to start seeds now but you can plant them in September for colorful flowers until December, or plant them in February for colorful flowers until May. There are many desert adapted perennials you can plant for summer color. These include salvia, Texas sage, Mexican Bird of Paradise and Yellow Bells but you won't be able to start them from seeds. Check your local nursery for desert adapted plants and you'll find lots of choices. Best wishes with your new garden.
