| If your amaryllis produces offsets, which are tiny bulbs that form around the parent bulb, you can remove these when the bulb is dormant. Pot them up at the same time you get your large bulb growing again (we who grow them indoors pot them up in the fall for winter bloom). The larger they are, the sooner they will produce blooming plants. A quicker method is to chop a large bulb into pieces, and plant them in a pot of moist peat and perlite. Keep the pot in a warm (75-85F) place, and don't let the medium dry out. The cuttings will soon sprout roots, and you can pot them cuttings individually when they have vigorously growing top growth. |
