A shady garden can be a delight, especially when planted with a variety of plants. Some perennials to consider would include hosta in all its many forms and colors, ferns, astilbe, perennial geraniums and some of the wildflowers sold in nurseries such as Solomon's Seal and Jacob's Ladder. Groundcovers would include creeping myrtle, pachysandra and the various forms of English ivy. Some shrubs to consider might be azaleas, summersweet clethra and perhaps some of the viburnums.
