I live in Washington, DC. Is it ok for me to plant tomatoes, basil and peppers in my garden this weekend? I think I've planted too late in the past, but I'm worried about the cold. Thanks! :)

I'm afraid it is still too early to plant outdoors. Wait until the second week of May when the soil and the air temperatures are warmer. It will help to choose short season tomato and pepper varieties. They mature faster than other varieties. Best wishes with your garden!
