Some turfgrass varieties green up faster than others in the spring so you may have a different turf than your neighbors, or it could be that they fertilize earlier. For the thickest, lushest, greenest lawn put your turf on a regular feeding schedule using a 3-1-2 ratio of NPK. Feed in April, June, September and late November. Most garden centers will have just the right type of fertilizer on sale at just the right time in the season so watch for sales. Best wishes with your lawn!
