The Q&A Archives: Doggie uses garden

Question: Our dog has a lot of ammonia in his urine which damages our lawn and other vegetation. Is there anything that can neutralize the ammonia and keep our lawn looking healthy?

Answer: The best thing would be to have your dog relieve himself somewhere else. But, short of that, flushing the area with water would dilute it some and also spreading a little lime would help too. However, nothing will really keep the grass looking good as long as he thinks it's his personal bathroom.
