I live in Greenville, SC and want to plant an inexpensive tree along my fence line for privacy from my neighbors. Which trees would you recommend? My fence line is in the sun all day, but I do have an irrigation system.

Thanks,
Katie

If it's privacy you want, evergreen trees are probably the best bet. Loquat is fast growing and reaches 20-40' in height; Magnolia, Sweetbay and wax myrtle are other choices. Deciduous trees include Sourwood, crape myrtle, and eastern redbud. Best wishes with your new trees.
