would like to plant a sorbaria sem, I just don't know what else to grow with it for the right color and height combo. I do have husker red digitalis, blue fescue and stonecrop;all these can be transplanted to a new area if not a good combo, I'm open to all ideas. maybe a crimson pigmy berberis or red baron grass???

Sorbaria is such a beautiful plant that it's difficult to come up with ideas for companion plants! The pinkish-red compound foliage unfurls in spring along deep pink stems and remains fern-like all summer, then in midsummer come the large sprays of creamy white flowers emerge. I'd plant the blue fescue and perhaps a compact evergreen such as boxwood to compliment the foliage of your Sorbaria. Maybe red baron grass to draw the eye. You may just have to try different plants until you come up with just the right combination. Whatever you choose, your Sorbaria will be the star of the show!
