I bought a trunpet Vine ( Orange) from Home Depot . It is just a dry stem of 3-4 inches now but supposed to grow 30-40 feet. Question - will it flower the first year or do I have to wait for next year to see the flowers? Can I prune Rose- of- sharon now? I live in Zone 5-6 and the temp are still in 40s & 50s.
. Is it ok to prune roses as well?

Now is a great time to prune your roses and your rose of sharon. Trumpet vines grow rampantly and they flower on new growth so it is possible yours will flower later this summer. If not, expect lots of flowers next spring and all through the summer. Enjoy your garden!
