There are so many weeds in my flower beds and around shrubbery. What can be used to kill the weeds and not harm the other plants...or do they need to be pulled by hand?

I'm afraid that anything you use to kill the weeds will affect your plants, as well. Hand digging and pulling is best and once you have the weeds out you can apply a pre emergent herbicide such as Preen to the beds to keep new weeds from sprouting. Or you can cover the bare ground with weed barrier or a thick organic mulch to keep new weeds from sprouting. I find it easiest to pull weeds when the soil is damp so water the area well the night before and by next moring the weeds should pull out easily. Best wishes with your project!
