How can I get rid of the ground cover plants that have moved into my lawn so I have these little purple flowers growing in my lawn?

You can try a broadleaf weed control product on your lawn. It should kill the groundcover without harming your lawn. However, if the plants are wild violets, I'm afraid your only option is to dig the weedy plants out, roots and all. Try the broadleaf weed killer first and see if that works. Hope so!
