Your smart seed lawn will have a deeper root system and therefore will need fewer waterings, but for longer periods of time so the water goes deep and keeps the roots moist. Mature lawns should be watered twice a week with ?? of water per application in the absence of rainfall. It is better to water a lawn fewer times per week for longer periods than short, frequent, light watering. Mow when the grass reaches 3 inches high and take off no more than one inch (1/3 of the blade). Don't let it get too tall between mowings or you will scalp the grass and send it into shock. Just mow as often as necessary to keep it about 2" high.
