I recently placed top soil on a number of spots that I intended to reseed. However, it rained before I'd a chance to put down the seed. Can I lay the seed on top of this wet soil & cover with straw in hopes of gemination? Also, what type of starter fertilizer will/can get from Home Depot. When do I apply it? Thank you, Dave |
I'm sure the top soil is fine. Rake over the top to roughen it up so the seeds will have someplace to rest. Broadcast your seeds and then sprinkle a little compost or peat moss over the top to help keep the seeds moist. Water as often as necessary to keep the areas moist. Grass seed should sprout in 7-14 days. Enjoy your lawn! |
