If your zucchini is flowering, you should get squash - as long as there's insect activity because they need to transfer the pollen. Squash plants develop separate male and female flowers; the male flowers are first to show up, followed by female flowers. Male flowers are connected to the vine by a straight stem; female flowers have a slight swelling behind the flower petals. You can examine the flowers as they open and as soon as you have a few female flowers open, cut a male flower from the vine and brush the insides of the male flower to the insides of the female flowers.
