I started my first garden and I have planted carrots and iceberg lettuce, can you tell me how do I know when they are ripe and ready to be taken out of the garden for eating?

Iceberg lettuce will be evident when it is ready for harvest. The heads will be large - about 6-7 inches in diameter. Carrots are a little more difficult to judge. Sometimes you need to pull one or two to see how large they are. It usually takes 60-65 days for them to mature so start checking in about 2 months. Enjoy your garden!
