I just planted some annual flowers. I took little rocks from the bed to plant those flowers. Do I need to put them back around the flowers? Those little rocks keeps the moist in the ground or heats up by the sun and damage the flowers? If so, What kind of mulch do I need to protect my flowers through summer? Do I need some mulch? Thanks.

I would use an organic mulch. You can purchase bags of compost for this purpose, or shredded bark or even bark nuggets to place around your flowers. Best wishes with your new plants!
