how do you get the grass to green up where the dog goes?

Dog urine has concentrated salts which can affect the soil. Try digging the areas, turning under the top soil so you have fresh soil, then working in a little compost to help moderate the pH. Spread your grass seeds and water them in well. The grass should sprout in 7-14 days. Good luck with your lawn!
