Should we put fertilizer on shrubs (and trees), if we put new mulch on them every year? If yes, how often? Thank you, Hana

You won't need to fertlize your trees and shrubs unless growth is poor or color is pale. The organic mulch you place around them leaches nutrients into the soil as it decomposes so you shouldn't have to use a fertilizer in addition to the mulch. good luck with your garden!
