I have a very shaded lot and frankly, I like it that way. The problem is I want to start my garden this year. Can I get good results from a garden placed in a semi-shaded, afternoon sun position?

Most vegetables need at least 8 hours of direct sunshine each day. There are exceptions - you can plant leafy greens and veggies that do not flower and produce fruit. Aside from lettuces, carrots, radishes, cabbage and broccoli, there aren't too many veggies that will thrive in the shade.
