what causes brown ends on my daylily plant leaves

Usually over watering but sometimes just dry air will produce crispy leaf ends. It won't hurt the plant, but it does look unattractive. Try a mulch beneath the plants or a low growing ground cover to help reduce reflected sunlight and heat beneath the foliage. Best wishes with your daylilies!
