I have an infestation of what i believe are mosquito hawks. Large tan colored flying insect with long thin wings and long very thin legs. I need to know how i can control these guys. They are all over my yard. |
What you describe are European Craneflies and although they are pesky they do not bite nor do they harm plants or turfgrass. They are simply flying around tryng to find mates. After mating the female lays eggs in the turfgrass which hatch and turn into leatherjackets, sometimes called grubs. The best control is to use a grub control product such as Grubex on your lawn. Apply according to label directions. |
